Youth Clinics - Cleveland County Tennis Association

The STARS Development Program is for players looking to compete on their middle and high school teams. Player will have a variety of tennis and athletic ability levels. The focus of the program is to encourage year-round participation by players to improve the overall success of the area high school tennis programs. Players will be offered special promotions in regards to clinics, lessons, racquet stringing and merchandise. The group clinics will focus on developing consistency in stroke production while developing basic matchplay strategies for use in competition. The summer camp program will offer fi tness development, basic stroke production and strategical development within matchplay formats.

The program may vary season to season in its offerings and structure to accommodate the hectic schedules of players. Each of the programs are developed and led by Scott Handback (a USTA Certifi ed High Performance Coach and has coached hundreds of state, sectional and nationaly-ranked players) and Jim Schaefer (USPTA Certifi ed Tennis Professional who has coached numerous high school and USTA tournament players). To join the program and receive regular updates of events, clinics and promotions, players must register in person at the Cleveland Country Club Tennis Facility or call 704-484-3332 by submitting basic information such as name, address, phone number, birthdate, and email. Players must pay a $25 annual registration fee. Once registered, players will receive a program ID card that is required for admission to all events and programs.

Each player will also receive the following at Cleveland Country Club:
